Throwing paint is a community-centric abstract painting class seeking to explore the world of expressionist painting in a communal, interactive setting. Instead of the traditional painting class with individual easels, this experience will center on communal interaction by placing all of the participants around a singular canvas. I’ll step the participants through a brief history of expressionist painting and then transition to instruction on how to be an expressionist painter (for the evening at least). This method allows for dynamic interactions between all the participants.
Class Itinerary:
• Quick introduction into expressionist painting
• A warmup exercise using the pastels and copy paper
• Warmup exercise using paint
• Full painting experience
To note, after the paint dries, each participant can rip up some of the canvas and take it home
